In 2017, this 99-year-old woman was forced from her home in Van Phong Bay, Vietnam. Two years on, she’s standing her ground and refusing to move.
Around 100 authorities came to her home and demanded she move. After refusing, she says they carried her away. Her house was then demolished while she and her grandson watched on.
Now, she lives in a tent next to her former home.
Authorities were making way for a heavily-polluting coal fired power station, Van Phong 1.
The coal plant is funded by banks including JBIC, SMBC, UFJ, Mizuho, DBS and OCBC, and sponsored by Sumitomo Corp.
